While Mr. Pettus was in police custody, the police department served three search warrants. On the first search the police could not find anything to link Pettus to the crime. After the first search, Pettus’ sister rearrange the room.
Later, there was another search warrant served. Again the police did not find anything to link Pettus to the crime. Pettus’ attorney and his investigator came out and looked and searched the room. They found nothing. Again Pettus’ sister rearranged the room.
Later, the third search warrant was issued and the Police came out and within seconds found jewelry belonging to the victim right out in the open on top of the stereo.
This room was no larger than 120 square feet, was searched two other times by at least four police officers, was rearranged twice by Pettus’ sister, was searched by the defense attorney and his investigator- AND THIS JEWELRY WAS FOUND OUT IN THE OPEN?
